The Havre Boucher Veterans’ Association Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 5 at 2:00pm. Church service at 10:00am at St. Paul’s Church, November 5.

There will be a Public Information Session about the Highway 104 Twinning from Taylors Road to Paqtnkek. Organizers will be looking for public feedback about the project and encourage you to attend.
The Plaid Marquee will present the science fiction comedy Jules, starring veteran actor, Ben Kingsley, as an aging resident of a small town whose life is upended when a flying saucer lands in his backyard, complicating his relations with friends, family and townsfolk. Doors open at 6:30. Advance tickets not available. First arrive, first seated.
Lindsay’s Health Centre for Women is a partnership of the Guysborough Antigonish Strait Health Authority, the Antigonish Women’s Resource Centre and the medical community. Services are provided by a multi-disciplinary team that includes Mental Health Services, Addictions Services, Public Health Services, the Women’s Centre, a physician and a nurse practitioner. Along with the medical care provided by the physician and nurse practitioner, Lindsay’s Health Centre offers a series of programs that are designed to help women make informed decisions about their health.

The monthly Support & Share sessions will take place on the last Thursday of each month. All sessions are open to those 18 yrs & older who are seeking grief support because of a loss. Trained facilitators will provide the support and resources needed to help you move through and beyond your grief for your mental health and well being. No registration is required. Everyone is welcomed!
Kitchen party jam every Friday night at the Hillside Community Hall, 27 Chance Harbour Road With a variety of musicians. All singers and players welcome, musicians free of charge, audience $5.00 at door and also a 50/50 draw along with a light lunch served all ages welcome
Come out and help us PAINT THE TOWN RED at the Inverness Fire Hall & Bay Friday, September 29 where Mill Road Social Enterprises will be hosting its annual CASINO NIGHT fundraiser.

Gamblers Anonymous Regular meetings for those struggling with a gambling problem are being held every Friday evening in New Glasgow.

Ecumenical service pays tribute to our companion animals and promotes kindness to all creatures. Everyone is welcome, with or without pets. Pets must be leashed or crated. Clergy will be present to administer blessings. In case of inclement weather, location will be the St James United Church Hall on Church Street.
$12 adults, $6 children. There will also be a bake table. Proceeds for Church purposes. Everyone Welcome!
Chase the Ace will take place each Saturday evening, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. until the Ace of Spades is selected.
Donations will be accepted at the door for Highland District Derby. Skate rentals are $10 (cash please) or you can bring your own, roller blades are welcome as well. There will be music, snacks and good times!
Menu consists of quiche, bacon, side salad, biscuits with sweet treats, tea and coffee. Take out available. Sponsored by St. Mary’s Church, Bayfield.

Hosted by the Municipality of Pictou County’s Climate Change Advisory Committee, research scientist Dr. Tim Webster will talk about how recent hurricanes have highlighted the concerns of coastal erosion. Dr. Webster will speak about ways Nova Scotians can protect the coastline from further damage. Admission is free and open to the public.
