The warden for the county of Antigonish said he also heard concerns from residents regarding
the contracting of the new Antigonish Farmers Market building.
The topic came up during Monday`s meeting of Antigonish Town Council, and McCarron said he heard concerns similar to those expressed to Antigonish Mayor Laurie Boucher. McCarron said the major concern is that the new building project didn`t involve a tendering process.
The town and county met with the market board to get an explanation for a lack of tendering.
There was nothing in the funding agreements tying the market board to take the project to tender, which McCarron said is something the municipality will look at going forward.
