Antigonish MLA Randy Delorey says he was pleased with how Nova Scotians responded to the
COVID-19 pandemic. Delorey was the province’s health minister during the first wave of the virus, stepping down as minister in October to seek the leadership of the provincial Liberal party. Delorey says it was and continues to be an intense time, but everyone stepped up to the plate, including health care workers; as well as Nova Scotians who followed the health care directives aimed at keeping them safe.
Locally, Delorey says the community responded to help St. FX students from outside the region who had to self-isolate prior to the start of classes last fall.
Delorey says he was also pleased to see municipalities working together during COVID-19 and the creativity of local businesses in adapting to the pandemic.
As the local MLA, Delorey says he was happy in announcing government support to several local organizations, including Antigonish Community Transit and the Antigonish Farmers Market.
