At Wednesday afternoon’s regular council meeting, a motion was passed to pursue federal and
provincial avenues of financial support for solar projects in the Municipality of the District of Guysborough. Warden Vernon Pitts said the municipality has a number of solar energy projects on the drawing board that would cost an estimated $1.3 million. The municipality has budgeted a $300,000 contribution towards the projects which would bring solar panels to the Chedabucto Lifestyle Centre, the libraries in Canso and Guysborough, buildings at the Waste Management Facility and the municipal building in Guysborough.
