Antigonish has its dog park.
Officials were on hand for the opening this afternoon. The $35,000 dog park came together

though funding from the county, with $15,000, and the town, with $20,000. Antigonish Town Mayor Laurie Boucher said councillor William Cormier brought the idea to council after hearing from residents. Staff secured the location near Columbus Field.
Boucher said the park will see use from town and county residents for sure, with the hope it will also bring people in from off the highway.
Warden Owen McCarron said it is another infrastructure piece that helps make Antigonish unique.
McCarron said public comments so far about the dog park are positive, adding it is another solid piece of infrastructure that will serve residents in the long-term.
