Eastern Counties Regional Library reports Higher Circulation in the Past Fiscal year; and an Uptick in Memberships

The Chief Librarian of the Eastern Counties Regional Library , Laura Emery, says there’s a feeling the library is on a great track and has a positive momentum.

The library released its annual report recently showing total circulation was almost 144,000 in the 2024-25 fiscal year.  That’s significantly higher from the previous year’s total of just over 95,000.

There were also 843 new users in the libraries last year, including 216 in Port Hawkesbury and 150 in Mabou. 

Emery says the new users were attracted to many of the electronic offerings.

The total collection at its libraries is almost 75,000, including about 44,000 books and more than 18,000 digital collections

Total membership in the library system is 4,470.
