Eastern Counties Regional Library’s Book and DVD Lending by Mail attracts Interest by Users

May 25, 2020 | Local News

Residents are able to borrow books and other materials from the Eastern Counties Regional Library again, just not in person.

ECRL has announced the return of lending of physical library materials like books and DVDs via the mail. The Borrow by Mail service is being expanded to include all library members as part of the ECRL`s response to covid-19. The service is available to anyone with a free library card.

ECRL CEO Laura Emery said they shut down all services when the branches closed due to covid 19. She said they came up with methods of handling books which allowed to them to relaunch the borrow by mail service.

Library users without internet access or who require assistance in placing title requests can call ECRL`s toll-free phone number at 1-855-787-7323,  Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Community members without a library card are encouraged to register online by visiting ecrl.library.ns.ca/registration or by calling the number. The library will waive any past fines or bills to make materials available.
