Officials with Festival Antigonish now have estimates of how much it will cost for the retrofit of the Bauer Theatre.

Managing Director Caleb Marshall says contractor bids for the project are entering the final stage of review and it is becoming clear of what the cost of the project will be.
Marshall says with a range of costs for the work, that leaves about $150,000 to raise for the project. Contributions to the Bridge the Bauer Campaign are close to $600,000 so far. Marshall says one potential source of revenue is the federal government’s Build Communities Strong Fund. The project has been identified for further consideration by the Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Department. Marshall says other sources of funding are also being pursued.
Construction is expected to begin in September, taking about three months to complete.
