The Coldest Night of the Year is an annual family-friendly walk to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger.  Pictou County Roots for Youth is hosting their 5th annual walk in 2021, to raise funds for their youth shelter in New Glasgow.

Due to the pandemic, this year’s walk will be both online and in person.

The virtual event will allow people to walk alone or with their bubble around their own routes anytime in February.

The in-person event will take place February 20, starting at Christian Fellowship Church in New Glasgow. Groups will walk – socially distanced – for either two or five kilometer routes. The opening ceremony will be scaled back and there won’t be a hot meal after.
