The Dr. John Hugh Gillis Regional stage band will be playing outdoors and the event at the Antigonish Heritage Museum Saturday at 2, where the first of the Canada 150 events will begin. The event will open with a traditional Mi’kmaq smudging ceremony. The Dr. J.H. Gillis High School stage band will then perform a nice mix of jazz and modern music that is sure to entertain. Cake and lemonade to follow. In case of rain, the event will be held in the Bethany Chapel.
