Town Point Oysters has applied for a new oyster aquaculture lease in Antigonish Harbour. Although the establishment of a Community Liaison Committee (CLC) isn’t required for the application approval process, they are establishing an arms-length CLC as part of the ongoing commitment to community engagement. The CLC will provide an opportunity for open dialogue between Town Point Oysters and local communities, with a forum for credible facts and science-based information. Individuals are encouraged to apply to become members, representing stakeholder groups with an interest in the local community. Membership in the CLC does not signify a member’s approval or disapproval of oyster aquaculture in the community. To learn more and apply, please visit their website Antigonishoysterclc.com. Applications are due by November 1st.
