Federal and Provincial Governments support Water and Compost projects in Guysborough County

Local municipalities are getting water and compost upgrades thanks to funding from all levels of government.  

Earlier today, Cape Breton Canso MP Rodger Cuzner and Guysborough-Eastern Shore-Tracadie MLA Lloyd Hines, along with Guysborough Warden Vernon Pitts, announced around $9 million in funding for the Town of Mulgrave and the Municipality of the District of Guysborough.

The funding in Guysborough will cover two new organic material processing buildings to replace an existing facility, with a price tag of around $1.8 million. For Mulgrave, the funding will cover the construction of a new wastewater treatment facility, with a price tag of around $7.33 million.   

The feds are providing $3.6 million while the province is kicking in $3 million and the municipalities are contributing $2.4 million in total.
