The federal government is providing support to firefighters in Nova Scotia in a couple of ways.
Central Nova MP Sean Fraser says Ottawa has reached a joint agreement with the province to invest almost $30 million to increase wildfire firefighting capacity.
As well, Fraser says the federal government is developing a national framework in combatting cancers linked to firefighting. It includes a commitment of more than $12 million for research and support for firefighters diagnosed with cancer.
