The final list of candidates has been released for the Band Council election at the Paqtnkek Mi’kmaw Nation. Nominated candidates had until Sunday with withdraw their name from the ballot.
Four people are in the running for chief. They include interim Chief Cory Julian, Laurie Ann Julian, Sharlene Pictou and Krista Thompson.
There are 33 candidates vying for the six Band Council seats. Five current members of council are seeking re-election, Kerry Prosper, Judy Bernard-Julian, Robert Pictou, Jeremy Paul, and Anne Marie Paul.
