Cottagers in Pictou County will have more garbage collections this year.
In response to requests from residents, as well as an increase in the number of people who are living in cottage areas year-round, council approved a pilot project that will extend roadside collection of garbage, organics and recyclables until December 31st.
The county is paying 36 thousand dollars for the extra service, which usually ended on the Thanksgiving weekend.
