Halloween is happening in Antigonish.
Both the Town and County of Antigonish gave the green light for trick or treaters for Halloween this year. The municipalities issued a list of guidelines, with a suggested timeline for kids to trick or treat between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.. They are also asking people to turn off outdoor lights and put up a sign if they do not want visitors. The signs are available online at the town’s website and they have a few at town office. They are also asking people to limit the number of houses they visit.
When asked why the town wanted to allow the festivities, Mayor Laurie Boucher said they decided to take the advice and recommendations of public health.
Boucher said this is a different year for all kinds of events and Halloween is no different.
