authority.

Last week, the Nova Scotia Health Authority removed three senior vice-presidents in a restructuring move interim CEO Janet Davidson says will improve local decision making and address concerns of the NSHA being too complex and bureaucratic.

Nova Scotia Health Critic and Pictou West MLA Karla MacFarlane called it a sign the NSHA is finally listening to residents. MacFarlane said she believes Davidson is taking control and moving forward with positive changes. The move is intended to improve local decision making and MacFarlane called it a necessary step.

However, MacFarlane said she does want to know how residents will be informed of the opportunity to have their voices heard. She understands an advisory committee is in the works, but also wants to know how the committees will be selected to make sure everyone is represented.
