election. Following the win, Fraser said the campaign went well and thanked his team of over 300 volunteers who knocked on doors, made calls, and helped around the office. He said he’s taking this week to plan out some of the things he wants to see his team focus on over the next few years.

Federally speaking, Fraser said one of the big priorities include new investment in the country’s public health care system with the transfer of $6 billion going toward doctor recruitment and implementing a universal pharmacare system. He also said Canada needs to play a leadership role in protecting the environment and fighting climate change. Locally speaking, he wants to see highspeed internet access extended, and pointed to projects in the queue such as highway 104 twinning and the cleaning of Boat Harbour.

When asked about the possibility of a cabinet position, Fraser said he’ll leave decision to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
