The Highland Community Midwives Clinic in Antigonish now has a new home in the community. The clinic, which provides care in Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness and most of Richmond Counties is now located at 83 Kirk Street. It’s in the same building as the Kids First Family Resource Centre, an organization the midwives have a close relationship with.
The clinic was previously located in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital at the Health and Wellness Centre, formerly known as the Martha Centre.
One of the midwives at the clinic, Kristen Tupper, says sharing the building with Kids First has its advantages.
Tupper says reaction from the public to its new welcoming space has been positive. The clinic has four full-time midwives.
