Highland Games Hall of Fame to Induct 12 People

The Antigonish Highland Society will induct 12 people to the Highland Games Hall of Fame this summer.

Ten of the 12 inductees hail from Antigonish.

 

Getting the nod are heavy weight event competitor Father Doug MacDonald, dancers Stephanie Grant and Gerarda MacDonald, pipers Bruce Gandy, Doug Boyd and Barry Ewan, drummer Lianne Bradshaw, runner Colin Patrick MacDonald, track and field organizer Angus Grant, pole vault specialist Gerald MacDonald, and all-round athlete Wayne ‘Cat’ Thompson. The late Dr. Jeannie Cameron will be posthumously inducted. 

 

The induction ceremony is set for July 11 at the East Coast Credit Union Social Enterprise Centre in Antigonish. This will be the second induction ceremony for the Highland Games Hall of Fame.
