X-Women Hockey defender Julia Schmitt is the StFX Female Athlete of the Week. Schmitt, a fourth year Science student from Truro, was selected in recognition of the hard work being put both on the ice at practice over the week and off the ice. Julia is a player ambassador for the ‘Hockey Gives Blood’ program and has dedicated a lot of time to promoting the worthwhile program.
X-Men Basketball forward Azaro Roker is the StFX Male Athlete of the Week. Roker, a fifth year Arts student from Nassau, Bahamas put up a big double-double night in the X-Men’s 99-76 exhibition win over Acadia on Saturday night. Azaro scored 11 points and hauled in 15 rebounds in what was his last game in the X-Men uniform.
