IGNITE Atlantic’s $100 Youth Startup Challenge finished up last weekend in New Glasgow with what organizers called a successful market day at the New Glasgow Farmer’s Market.

Ally MacKenzie, digital innovation and communications coordinator with Ignite Atlantic, said the event began on Monday, July 6.
MacKenzie said the 11 participants brainstormed ideas and created their products while learning about marketing and brand development. At the end of the week, they went directly to customers at the market. She said the idea was to give those youth a hands-on entrepreneurial experience.
Collectively, the participants earned nearly $1,200 in profit. MacKenzie said the camper came up with some creative business ideas and worked hard to bring them to life. The New Glasgow Camp was the first stop in the 2026 $100 youth startup challenge tour.
