Inverness County Council sees Several Changes in Saturday’s Election

Several Inverness County Council seats changed hands in Saturday’s municipal election.

In District 3, Bonny MacIsaac was elected, beating out incumbent Jim Mustard who finished third. In District 5, incumbent and Warden Betty Ann MacQuarrie was defeated, losing to Lynn Chisholm.

Another incumbent that fell in the election was John Dowling, losing to Catherine L. Gillis in District 6.

District 4 incumbent John MacLennan was re-elected, beating out two other opponents.

Acclaimed were incumbents Alfred Poirier in District one and Laurie Cranton in District 2.
