Bonny MacIsaac was acclaimed the deputy warden following a swearing-in ceremony for the new council last night at the Judique Community Centre.

Cranton won in a secret ballot vote against district 1 councillor Alfred Poirier.

After he was announced the winner, Cranton said he will be taking a more team-oriented approach from years past, noting the importance of honesty and transparency, respect for staff, as well as working for the common good.

The new warden said infrastructure – namely sewer and water, as well as Internet and cellular services – are top priorities in the short-term, while mitigating the economic impacts of COVID-19 are long-term goals.

For her part, the new deputy warden said she is ready for the challenge and like Cranton, infrastructure is at the top of her list, notably water and sewer upgrades in the village of Inverness.
