There’s lots of local interest in Kraft Hockeyville, where cash prizes are awarded for recreation facility upgrades.
A number of local arenas have been nominated. They include the Antigonish Arena, the Pictou County Wellness Centre, the Trenton Minor Sports Community Centre, the Mabou Athletic Centre, Westville Miners Sports Centre, and the Cabot Trail Arena in Cheticamp. Other local facilities nominated are the Ivor MacDonald Memorial Arena in Thorburn, the Al MacInnis Sports Centre in Port Hood, the Hector Arena in Pictou, the Victoria Highland Civic Centre in Baddeck, St. Mary’s Rec Plex in Sherbrooke, Richmond Arena in Louisdale, the Dr. Bernie MacLean Cultural Recreation Centre in Inverness, the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre and the Canso Arena.

The deadline for nominations is March 1st
This year, Hockeyville will be awarding $50,000 each to provincial and territorial winners. The grand prize winner gets $250,000 and the opportunity to host and NHL pre-season game. The runner up gets $100,000.
