Local Companies Submit Bids on Construction Contracts

Several local companies submitted the lowest bids on construction projects in the province. Zutphen Brothers had the low tender of  $7.9 million for design and construction of bridges, solid rock excavation, widening and asphalt concrete patching and repaving for three projects along the Cabot Trail in Victoria County. Two other companies bid for the work.

Nova Construction posted the lowest quote of $2.2 million for drainage improvements, guard rail and asphalt concrete patching and repaving for a project in Annapolis County. Three other companies offered tenders on the project.

Nova Construction also had the lowest bid of just over $329,000 for drainage improvements and asphalt patching and repaving for two projects in Antigonish County. The work covers parts of Pleasant Valley Road and Brierly Brook Road. Two other companies offered bids.

S. W. Weeks Contracting had the lowest quote of  $1.7 million for drainage improvements, widening and asphalt concrete patching and repaving for a section of Route 316 in Guysborough County. Three other companies offered bids for the contract.
