Local engineer Victor Belliveau recently recevied the 2025 F.H. Sexton Gold Medal, Engineers Nova Scotia’s highest honour, in recognition of his work in the engineering profession in Nova Scotia over the last 50 plus years.
Belliveau moved to Antigonish in 1973 when he joined A.H. Roy and Associates, eventually becoming vice-president and eventually co-owner.

He led mechanical design on major hospital projects, including Cape Breton Regional, Valley Regional, and St. Martha’s, ?and supported campus expansions at Nova Scotia Community College and St. Francis Xavier University. Since 2008, he has supported over 30 students through Dalhousie University’s Work Integrated Learning program.
When asked about the FH Sexton gold medal, Belliveau called it a surprise.
An Antigonish Lion`s Club member since the early 80s, Belliveau helped build the St. Andrew`s Curling rink, and is also year-round golfer.
