A local garden club has offered to pitch in and beautify a spot in the town of Pictou.
The Scammell Garden features a small lighthouse that has fallen into disrepair. The Pictou and Area Garden Club proposed to council that if the town demolishes the lighthouse, they would build a new structure on the slab and work to beautify the area around it at no additional cost to the town.
Council voted to approve the plan.
