The Chief of the Emergency Department and the Physician Lead for the COVID-19 response at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital says she’s pleased with the resilience and the courage she’s seen at the medical facility and in the community in battling the third wave of the pandemic.
Dr. Tania Sullivan says the Antigonish-Guysborough Counties area has been fortunate that COVID case numbers have been low. However she adds that we can’t be confident that COVID is gone.
Sullivan adds that while we can see that widespread vaccinations can change how we live with COVID, area residents must also consider regular testing, even after receiving their shots.
Sullivan says for those who haven’t been vaccinated yet and have questions or concerns, they should reach out to their health care providers.
