The Provincial Agriculture Minister’s Awards of Excellence were presented on Thursday, and there’s a local resident among recipients.
The awards recognize Nova Scotians who demonstrate exceptional qualities as operators of
farms or other agricultural businesses, or as innovators, promoters or supporters of agriculture in other ways.
Among the recipients was Cathy Munro of Bramble Hill Farm in Westville, capturing the New Entrant in Agriculture Award.
Agriculture Minister and Guysborough-Tracadie MLA Greg Morrow announced the winners in Truro.
There were 13 award recipients, including organic farm owners who developed a farm-to-school snack program, a wine producer who highlights Nova Scotia grape growing in international markets and two female farmers who created a network for local farm women.
