A long-time Antigonish County Councillor announced he will not run in the upcoming municipal election.
District 2 Councillor Donnie MacDonald says he will not seek re-election this fall. After serving for 24 years, MacDonald thanked his colleagues at the council table as well as the county`s staff. He also thanked residents for their support over the years, adding it has been an honour serving as councillor.
The Nova Scotia Municipal election date is October 19.
