Lovin the Lights in Support of the Naomi Society Raises $4,000

Dec 19, 2024 | Local News

This year’s edition of the Lovin the Lights initiative raised $4,000 for the Naomi Society.

Emilie Chiasson, one of the organizers this year, said she and other drivers of the event saw a lot of people looking for low cost or free events to do leading up to Christmas. Around 29 residents decorated their homes for the December 13-15th event, which saw residents purchase tour maps and then vote on their favourites in a number of categories.

Chiasson said it was exciting to see the creativity and effort people put into the decorations.

Canadian Radio Awards: 989 XFM Small Market Station of The Year

Broadcast Dialogue has announced the winners of the inaugural Canadian Radio Awards, which we’ve dubbed “The Howards” after our publisher emeritus Howard Christensen.

When Howard, a radio veteran and one of the original Broadcast News anchors, founded Broadcast Dialogue in 1992, he saw a need for both timely delivery of Canadian broadcast industry news, but also recognized the importance of creating a sense of community.

989 XFM is very proud to be the winner of the 2020 Station of Year – Small Market award.
