The mayor & council of the town of Stellarton have written a letter to the new Energy Minister, with questions about the proposed Rapid-Acting Natural Gas Power Plants to be built in Pictou County.
Noting that at least one of the proposed locations is within the town’s watershed area, the letter asks MLA Marco MacLeod to show what studies have been done in three key areas: effects on the watershed, effects on the environment, and levels of water usage.

Council also wants MacLeod to provide information on what steps the province will take to mitigate those effects.
