An Antigonish resident has been named Pickleball Nova Scotia’s Volunteer of the Year. Mike Hinchey is the President of the Antigonish Pickleball Club.
Hinchey has played a major role in the growth of the sport locally. In the past two years, the club has increased from an original group of 7 to about 100 now.
Hinchey says he’s touched by the honour.
Hinchey was Co-Chair of the 2019 Nova Scotia Provincial 55+ Games Pickleball Tournament held on the St. FX University campus.
He has also organized regular recreational tournaments for local players.
Hinchey will be recognized for the award and presented with a personal plaque at Pickleball Nova Scotia’s upcoming Annual General Meeting.
