Motorist injuries in Single Car Crash in Ingonish

Ingonish RCMP say a motorist sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries in a single car collision early Sunday morning on Beach Road. Police say the crash occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Police say the car, a Honda Civic, left the road and collided with trees. The driver, a 28-year-old man from Dingwall, was thrown from the car and pinned under it.

He was removed from under the car with the use of a backhoe from Parks Canada. The driver was later airlifted to hospital in Halifax. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
