It was a successful start for the building that is now home of the Mulgrave Road Theatre in Guysborough.
The Mulgrave Road Theatre Centre for the Arts had a soft opening earlier this month.

It had its first stage production, “For Love Nor Money” by Laura Teasdale. It was a co-production with Festival Antigonish last summer during its initial run at the Bauer Theatre, and brought back this year for the launch of the Centre for the Arts. That was followed by a concert as part of the Stan Rogers Folk Festival Road Show series.
Artistic Director Emmy Alcorn was pleased with the opening of its new building.
Alcorn says it will have a grand opening in the fall, hopefully in late October.
Alcorn says there are a few items that will be addressed between now and then, including installing signage both inside and out, create a hanging system in the art gallery, and landscaping.
