The Association of Nova Scotia Museums recently presented its the Awards for Excellence in Museum Practices and there was a local winner.
The award for Programming by an Organization went to Stellarton’s Museum of Industry for its exhibit titled “Hockey: Whose Game Is It?”
A post of the association’s web site states the exhibit viewed contributions to hockey and participation in the game through the lens of African Nova Scotians, Mi’kmaq, and women players. It told the story of hockey’s early origins in Nova Scotia, and the province’s ongoing relationship with the sport.
