New Glasgow folling rules for water testing

Aug 16, 2019 | Local News

The Town of New Glasgow is looking for residents to volunteer to have their water tested.

New Glasgow Mayor Nancy Dicks says new Health Canada regulations mandate communities test their water for lead in residential homes. The rules require a certain sample size and for the Town of New Glasgow, that means 40 homes require testing between August and September.

A release on the town’s Facebook page states the sampling protocol is based on the Random Daytime sampling method, where one litre of water is drawn from taps at a random time of the day.

People interested in taking part are asked to call 902-755-2237 or contact craig.gerrior@newglasgow.ca to arrange to have their tap water sampled.
