New Glasgow House Extensively Damaged by Fire, Police say the Blaze is Suspicious

New Glasgow Regional Police are investigating a suspicious fire. Police say around 11:10 last

night, the New Glasgow Fire Department and officers responded to a 911 call about a house fire on MacDonald Street in the town.

Investigators believe the fire started between 10:30 and 11 p.m. The fire began at the front of the house, causing extensive damage.

The house had four apartments, two on the bottom floor and two on the upper floor. Only the upper two apartments were occupied at the time.

Red Cross volunteers assisted those displaced by the fire.

New Glasgow Regional Police and the fire department continue to investigate the blaze.
