Several events took place over the last 12 months to mark the municipality’s anniversary milestone, with the mayor noting the year surpassed her expectations. Dicks said there were a lot of events and opportunities to get together and share the history and culture of the area.
She also mentioned the drone show in August, a first for the area, the international town criers competition, the sport legacy exhibit at Glasgow Square Theatre, and the tribute walk honoring Henderson Paris and the Run Against Racism as important.
Dicks said she is proud of the town, residents, and the volunteers who helped with the celebrations.
