The New Glasgow Police responded to a disturbance near James Street and Marsh Street, New Glasgow Thursday evening at approximately 7:10 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers located and arrested a 45-year-old male who was in possession of a weapon. As a result of the investigation, the police changed the individual with Assault with a Weapon , Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose , Causing a Disturbance , and two counts of Failure to Comply with a Release Order .
Police identified another adult male as the victim of the assault. The victim did not sustain any physical injuries because of the incident.
The accused was held in custody overnight and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Pictou today.
