New Glasgow Regional Police say a 25-year-old Pictou County man who was shot during an
investigation more than a month ago on Washington Street is facing a number of charges. Police say the man has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, Resisting and Obstruction of a Police Officer, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace, Theft Under $5,000 and two counts of Failing to Comply with a Probation Order.

The 25-year-old was transported to the Aberdeen Hospital and later to the Queen Elizabeth Health Sciences Centre. No one else was injuried.
Further details about the incident aren’t being released, as the matter has been referred to the province’s police watchdog, the Serious Incident Response Team.
