New Glasgow has turned down a request to sell water to the Town of Trenton.
Trenton, currently undergoing a water rate review with the Utility & Review Board, had approached the town to ask if they could enter an agreement to purchase water from the New Glasgow Water Utility.
Council voted not to consider the request, saying that the town’s population is growing and the long-term effects of climate change on the water supply are unknown.
