New Glasgow Town Council hears petition from residents

Jan 20, 2026 | Local News

A group of residents from Westside New Glasgow presented a petition last night to town council. The group lives in Terrace Heights, where an undeveloped lot of about 40 thousand square feet has been subject to a request for proposals from the town for options to build housing on it. The petitioners want the town to cancel the RFP, citing an agreement with the original developers of Terrace Heights to include a small percentage of land given to the town for green space, parks, or other public use. Council accepted the petition, and Mayor Nancy Dicks said their concerns will be taken into consideration as discussion moves forward.
