Nova Scotia’s minimum wage is going up today.
The new minimum wage is $16.50 per hour, up from $15.70. That’s the second increase this year, bringing to total to $1.30 higher in 2025.

About 40,000 Nova Scotia workers currently earn the minimum wage, about 7.7 per cent of the labour force.
Minimum wage earners work throughout Nova Scotia, primarily in retail, followed by the food and accommodation industries.
