Following a presentation by Nova Scotia Power to Antigonish County Council, Warden Owen 
McCarron said building lines of communication between the company and municipality is important.
The presentation centred on Hurricane Dorian and the devastation it left in its wake. Representatives said Dorian was three times more impactful than Hurricane Juan, noting over 412,000 customers were without power at one point. NSP also explained their priority list when it comes to power restoration in such emergencies.
McCarron said it was a good presentation and underlined the challenges NSP faces in such weather events. The warden also pointed to NSP indicating more line clearing is coming to the Antigonish area.
The warden said NSP came of their own volition, noting building a relationship with municipalities is critically important for the company.
