Former Central Nova MP Peter MacKay says he will not run in the next federal

election. MacKay, in a statement issued Monday says he made the decision after much reflection and discussions with his family. MacKay says after spending almost 9 months as a Conservative Party leadership candidate, much of it away from his family and job in the middle of a pandemic, his focus must return to both.
In September, shortly after the conclusion of the Conservative Leadership race, MacKay was approached by the Central Nova Conservative Riding Association to seek the nomination as the party’s candidate in the riding for the next election.
