Pictou Centre MLA Danny MacGillivrary says 2025 was a Productive Year

Pictou Centre MLA Danny MacGillivray recently reflected on his first year in the legislature.

MacGillivray, who previously served as the mayor of Stellarton and elected as MLA in 2024, is the ministerial assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and chair of the Health Committee.

MacGillivray called 2025 a productive year. He said he’s been working on two big local items with the drive to get a new school Trenton as well as the issues surrounding Viola’s Place, adding he feels there is progress on both. He said he will continue to work on those items, to make sure the school is built as soon as possible and to continue to work with the Town of New Glasgow and various stakeholders for Viola’s Place. MacGillivray also pointed to the 144-bed long-term-care facility coming to New Glasgow  after a groundbreaking in November. The expected completion is in late 2028.
