Pictou County council has given thumbs up to the naming of a brook to commemorate a late
local Naval Officer.
Council passed a motion officially endorsing the plan from Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services to name a brook in the Hazel Glen/Union Centre area “Billy Boudreau Brook”, in honor of Chief Petty Officer William Alfred Boudreau from New Glasgow, who was lost aboard the HMCS Kootenay in 1969
