With the holidays on the way, Shelly Manning, media relations officer for Pictou County Food Bank East, thanked the community for their generosity.

Manning said they help between 1,550 and 1,600 households annually. In December, they offer a Christmas hamper with the fixings for a holiday meal with stuffing, veggies, chocolate, and chicken or ham.
Manning said they continue to be very busy, noting they are helping around the same amount of people as last year but clients are coming more frequently. She thanked the community for its generous support, noting they run on that support.
